Google Smart Contact Lenses - An Update

Some months ago we had shared the news with you about Google testing prototypes contact lenses which may help diabetics to successfully monitor their blood glucose level.

Google has secured two patents last week for the cutting edge, biometric sensor technology.

The “Ophthalmic Electrochemical Sensors” in these contact lenses are designed to read chemicals in the tear fluid of the wearer’s eye and alter him/her through a little embedded LED light when their blood sugar level falls.

Google, which announced the project in January, still has to get FDA approval before anyone starts wearing these smart contact lenses.

Till such time that these Google lenses are available for commercial use, check out the huge collection of eyewear at 20/20 Eyeglass Superstore. They proudly claim to have a frame for every face and a price for any budget. With 3 convenient locations in Winter Park, Melbourne and Orange City, each location has its own independent optometrist and in house lab so that you can be in and out with your new eyeglasses or contact lenses in as little as one hour.
