Minor eye scratches

Eye patches probably do not improve healing of small scratches to the eye, and may even slow down recovery and cause other problems. Minor superficial scratches can be painful and cause blurry vision and sensitive to light

The cornea will usually heal by themselves within two to three days.

A corneal abrasion is the injuries of the cornea that only affect the surface and it often treated with eye ointment. People often use an eye patch, sometimes putting padding or tape on the eye to keep it shut.

The researchers from the Cochrane Collaboration looked for clinical trials to study the effects of eye patching on corneal abrasions.
