Refractive Errors in Children

Refractive errors are just one potential cause of blurred vision, so it is important for your child to have an examination right away if they are experiencing symptoms.

The most common refractive errors in children are:

· Nearsightedness
· Farsightedness
· Distorted vision

It is possible to have two or more types of refractive error at the same time.

Myopia is also knows as nearsightedness. Close objects look clear, but distant objects appear blurred to the person who has this disorder.

Hyperopia is also knows as farsightedness. In this light from close objects cannot focus clearly on the retina.

Astigmatism is also knows as distorted vision or blurr vision for both near and far objects. It is possible to have astigmatism in combination with myopia or hyperopia.

Vision Screening is very important not only for children’s but also for all age group people.
