Eye Twitching

Eye twitching is an uncontrollable blinking or spasm of the upper eyelid and it affects the eyes muscles of both the eyes.  The causes of eye twitching are generally unknown and may be associated with:
·         Fatigue
·         Stress
·         Caffeine

This form of twitching can be annoying but is painless and harmless. It usually goes away on its own. Throughout the day some people have spasms that occur frequently which could last for days, weeks or even months.

The three common types of eye twitching are:

·         Minor eyelid twitch
·         Benign essential blepharospasm
·         Hemifacial spasm

Sometimes, eye twitching can be a sign of eye conditions such as:

·         Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids)
·         Dry eyes
·         Light sensitivity
·         Pinkeye
