New iPad's Retina Display Reduces Eye Strain

If you are having any symptoms of eyestrain, then you need to upgrade your device and get an eye exam done asap. The latest offerings from Apple is the new iPad also has an advance retina display. 

The term "retina display" first arrived with the iPhone 4. 

According to Gary Heiting, an optometrist and associate editor of the site All About Vision,  "A key factor in something that's called computer vision syndrome, or just eye strain from computer use, is screen resolution,". 

The new iPad’s ultra-high resolution retina display is twice the resolution of the iPad 2, thus proving to be a visual comfort issue. As Heiting describes it, the closer you can get the screen resolution to be similar to the human eye itself, the better it's going to be in terms of visual comfort. The iPad's retina display would also ease some of the eye strain of playing games. It also eases the inherent strain that goes hand-in-hand with staring at a glowing screen.

Types of glasses

·         Historical types of glasses include the pince-nez, monocle, lorgnette, and scissor or scissors-glasses.

·         Modern glasses are typically supported by pads on the bridge of the nose and by temple arms (sides) placed over the ears.

 CR-39 lenses are the most common plastic lenses due to their low weight, high scratch resistance, low dispersion, and low transparency to ultraviolet and infrared radiation.

Polycarbonate and Trivex lenses are the lightest and most shatter-resistant, making them the best for impact protection.

Though modern frames can be both lightweight and flexible, and new lens materials and optical coatings are resistant to breakage and scratching, glasses can pose problems during rigorous sports. Scraping, fracturing, or breakage of the lenses can require repair by a Licensed Optician professional.
